"Reporting Animal Cruelty:
What Caring Citizens Need to Know"
This program is for anyone with a concern for
animals, especially those who have witnessed animal cruelty or
neglect and not known what to do about it. It will provide an
overview of animal cruelty law, practical advice on gathering
evidence, and who to contact for help.
Crimes against animals often go unpunished because
they are not reported. Others that are reported are often not pursued
because evidence is gathered incorrectly. In addition, laws pertaining
to animals are sometimes misunderstood, even by authorities who are
charged with enforcing them.
For that reason, those who care about animals
need to be familiar with the law, as well as how to best present
evidence and eyewitness accounts of cruelty and neglect.
Presented by Sheila McGee, an animal advocate and student of HVCC’s
Animal Law program.
We are happy to bring this program to your
location. If you wish to have this program presented to your
group, please call (518) 374-3944, ext. 113.
