The animals we care for at the APF always
need food, attention, medicine, and a clean, safe place to stay while
they wait for homes of their own. You can help make their stay here more
comfortable by donating items from our Wish List. Your donations allow funds budgeted for these items to be used in other important ways.
Every dog deserves a soft, comfortable
place to sleep while waiting to be adopted. You can help by donating a
Kuranda dog bed by clicking below.

Wish List
We no longer have a need for
donated DRY cat or dog food for the animals here at the APF.
Through Hills Science Diet’s shelter program, we receive all the kibble
we need.
However, if you
do have pet food you would like to donate to someone in need, we are
collecting pet food for the Schenectady Inner City Ministry (SICM) Food
Pantry program. You can either drop off donations for them here or at
the Food Pantry located at 839 Albany Street in
Schenectady. For more information on this program,
Order dog toys and other items we need online via our Amazon.com gift
registry.
Special items we are currently looking for:
-
KMR
(Kitten Milk Replacer) - the orphan litters of kittens just keep
coming and we go through a lot of this formula every week. We can
actually buy this cheaper ourselves in bulk, so a monetary donation
especially for KMR would be most useful for the kitties.
-
We are
always short of soft, comfy cat mats and small washable beds for our
kitties, especially during the summer. Even donations of scrap fleece fabric to be made into beds
would help.
-
New dog
or cat Beanie Babies (or similar manufactuer) for children's
"adoption" activity coming at the Fireplug 500.
-
Gift Cards through
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc - the easiest way to make
sure the animals get exactly what they need! These can be found
online and at larger grocery stores.
-
Chest freezer - manual
defrost, 9 cubic feet or larger. We are willing to pick up.
-
Electric dryers -
heavy-duty, large capacity in excellent working condition. We are
willing to pick up.
-
Galileo nylon bones in Souper
(largest) size and
Black Extreme Kong rubber toys (largest sizes)
-

treats
-
NEW children's items to use as prizes
for children, such as games, puzzles, art and craft kits, gift
certificates
for ice cream, trinkets such as key chains, notepads,
stickers, cute pencils, etc. Hello Kitty or any other
animal-themed
goodies especially.
