End of Life Services
Our pets are a valued part of our family, and when our journey with them comes to an end, the APF knows how important it is to trust the place you turn to for end of life pet services. We are here to offer affordable, quality services to our community members. Following are the current services we provide:
Euthanasia
The APF recognizes how difficult it can be to decide that a beloved pet is in need of humane euthanasia. If you are considering using our affordable end-of-life services, please call us at (518) 374-3944 ext. 101. One of our representatives will answer any questions you have about our process to ensure you and your pet receive the appropriate care and services. The chart below outlines the cost of euthanasia by a pet’s weight.
The APF’s humane euthanasia service is available by appointment only. Please note that we are not able to allow pet owners to stay during the procedure.
If your pet is in need of emergency attention, please take them to your local Emergency Animal Hospital.
Your pet’s terminal illness, age, prognosis, or general well-being should be discussed with your veterinarian prior to making an appointment.

Cremation
The APF offers affordable private and group cremation services, with several options for packages. Cremation services at the APF are provided by Faithful Companions Pet Cemetries & Crematories.
Packages and pricing are as follows:
The Rainbow Package: This package includes an urn with certificate of cremation, personalized paw print with display easel, nose print and fur clipping envelope, memory candle, pocket hug, rainbow bridge poem and packet of wildflower seeds. – Additional $80.00
Personalized Clay Paw Print: Additional $30.00
Fur Clipping with Nose Print: Additional $20.00

Pet Bereavement
We know how hard it is to lose a pet, which is why the Animal Protective Foundation hosts a free Pet Bereavement Support Group every third Wednesday of the month at 6PM.
The group is led by Estelle Giles-Monroe, MSW, LCSWR
This group is made possible by the generosity of Dr. Roger Blankfein, owner of In The Comfort of Home. Dr. Blankfein provides an in-home pet euthanasia service to make your most difficult situation as peaceful and relaxed as possible – for both you and your pet.
