Help support sheltered animals in need

To ensure that the APF can always provide all shelter animals in need of extraordinary medical care, we have created the APF Angel Fund. This fund will enable us to always have the financial resources available to help each of the animals who need special care.

Our shelter veterinary team is well known as one of the Capital Region’s largest providers of spay/neuter surgeries, but they also provide lifesaving care for the shelter animals. They are able to handle the vast majority of the treatments and minor surgeries in-house, but often the shelter animals need next-level care that requires a specialist and those procedures are an extreme expense to the APF.

Please consider donating to the APF Angel Fund and help all shelter animals like Chili, Lulu and Miss Piggy receive the medical attention they need.

Pet Safety Net

A Safety Net For Pets and The People Who Love Them

At the Animal Protective Foundation, we believe no one should ever have to give up their beloved pet because they can’t afford pet food, veterinary care, or other costs related to the health and well-being of their companion animals.

Yet members of our community find themselves financially stretched or facing other setbacks while struggling to afford care for their companion animals. 

Honey's story in the video below, is the perfect example of how the Pet Safety Net will fill in the gap, providing temporary assistance, to prevent suffering for the most vulnerable animals.

Giving Beyond Cash Donations

Workplace Giving and Matching Gifts

Maximize your impact by participating in workplace giving programs or by taking advantage of your employer’s matching gift program. Many companies offer to match their employees’ charitable contributions, effectively doubling or even tripling your donation. Another great way to support the Animal Protective Foundation is by donating supplies that help us care for the animals in our shelter. From food and toys to bedding and cleaning products, your donations make a huge difference in the day-to-day lives of the pets waiting for their forever homes.

Items We Always Need:

• Dog and cat food (wet and dry)
• Cat litter (non-clumping)
• Durable dog toys (KONGs, chew toys)
• Soft cat toys
• Blankets and towels
• Cleaning supplies (disinfecting wipes, laundry detergent)
